argh, this regular posting malarky hasn't gone well.

some brief observations
1. There is a huge difference in ability in all Standard Grade and below classes. This causes problems when differentiating between pupils as the range is harder (too hard?) to manage and leaves some pupils behind and other pupils bored because of lack of challenge.
2. It's very interesting following one teacher through different classes and seeing their different manners with each.
3. Individual lesson plans don't exist, each lesson continues from the last, there is a plan for the year and a rough timescale for it but that's about as far as it goes.

well that's two days down.if it was just observation it waould be deadly dull, luckily though I've been getting to have wee shots of teaching and interaction with the pupils, although i don't always know the answers to the questions they ask. so far the majority of the classses i've been in have been craft and design which is the one subject that i haven't done, oh well its an interesting way to spend my time and i'm learning a lot in terms of how to manage different types of pupils.

yeuch!

I've just remembered the nasty blogspot advert. My other blog runs with MT and is hosted on my own webspace.
Welcome to tekiteacher. This is going to be my outlet for any thoughts I have to do with my work as a (trainee) teacher. I have another blog but for reasons of privacy and professionalism etc it is going to be un-named here as is this over there.

Tomorrow I start two weeks of observation at a secondary school in the CDT Dept so I'll jot down anything I want to write about later here - I have to write an essay about my experiences by the end of February. See you tomorrow!
